A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to over 16 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Mark Allen Mendenhall, 53, was sentenced on January 27, 2026, following his July 16, 2025, guilty plea to one count of possession with intent to distribute at least five grams of pure methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Mendenhall’s arrest followed a traffic accident during which he was found in possession of the drug. The case highlights continued efforts by law enforcement in the Northern District of Iowa to address methamphetamine distribution and related offenses.

Muscatine man sentenced to 15 years for transporting child pornography

A Muscatine man has been sentenced to fifteen years in federal prison after being convicted for transporting child pornography while on probation for a previous offense. Authorities say he must also pay restitution and serve supervised release after prison.
