A Cedar Rapids resident, Anthony Chan Dixon, has been sentenced to over eight years in federal prison for his involvement in distributing fentanyl. Dixon, aged 35, had earlier pled guilty on January 21, 2025, to a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
The court hearing revealed that Dixon relocated from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Phoenix, Arizona before the year 2022. From there, he began mailing packages containing hundreds of fentanyl pills back to Cedar Rapids between 2022 and September 2023. In total, he distributed at least 4,500 pills to various dealers in the area. Prior to this conviction, Dixon had two previous felony drug convictions.
United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams handed down the sentence in Cedar Rapids. Dixon received a sentence of 106 months’ imprisonment followed by a three-year supervised release term after completing his prison sentence. The federal system does not allow for parole.
Currently held in the United States Marshal’s custody, Dixon awaits transportation to a federal prison.
