Katie Kammerude, a 39-year-old resident of Dubuque, Iowa, has been sentenced to more than nine years in federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The sentencing took place on November 19, 2025.
Kammerude pleaded guilty on June 3, 2025, to conspiring to distribute over 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine and at least 50 grams of pure methamphetamine, also known as “ice.”
According to evidence presented during sentencing, Kammerude traveled between July and September 2024 to Des Moines, Davenport, and Iowa City to collect large quantities of methamphetamine. She then returned to Dubuque where she sold the drugs. Law enforcement stopped Kammerude’s vehicle three times during this period and found methamphetamine each time—ranging from several ounces up to a couple of pounds per stop. In total, authorities attributed more than 5,000 grams of methamphetamine to her activities.
Chief Judge C.J. Williams of the United States District Court in Cedar Rapids sentenced Kammerude to 109 months in prison. After completing her prison term, she will be required to serve five years on supervised release. Federal law does not allow parole.
