A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Loren Craig, 52, received the sentence on November 20, 2025, after pleading guilty on July 14, 2025.
Court documents show that between August and September 2023, Craig and others agreed to distribute more than 14 pounds of methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area. Law enforcement identified Craig as a distributor during their investigation. On September 29, 2023, authorities executed a search warrant at his home and found methamphetamine, two firearms, and items related to drug distribution.
United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand handed down the sentence in Sioux City. In addition to the 180-month prison term, Craig will serve five years of supervised release following his incarceration. Federal law does not allow parole.
“There is no parole in the federal system,” according to court officials.
Craig’s case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address methamphetamine trafficking in Iowa communities.
