The Iowa State Bar Association announced on Apr. 22 that its annual Tax and Estate Planning Institute will take place on Friday, May 22, offering a full day of continuing legal education for attorneys in person at the ISBA Building in Des Moines or via live webinar.

This event is designed to help legal professionals stay informed about ongoing changes in tax and estate planning law. The program aims to provide practical updates and analysis from leaders in the field, focusing on real-world issues such as trust planning, regulatory changes, and ethical obligations.

The agenda includes sessions like “Planning for Disabled Beneficiaries, Including Use of Special Needs Trusts and Supplemental Needs Trusts” led by Greg Kenyon of Dickinson Bradshaw Fowler & Hagen, PC; “Mathematics of Estate Planning and Tools” with Paul Morf from Simmons Perrine PLC; “Harvest of Change: Navigating the 2026 Shift in Agricultural Law and Taxation” presented by Professor Roger McEowen from Washburn University School of Law; and “Social Security Questions” with Roger Abel from Premier Investments and Wealth Management.
