Lance Paul White, a 33-year-old resident of Cherokee, Iowa, has entered a guilty plea to charges of possessing child pornography. The plea was made on June 5, 2025, in a federal court located in Sioux City.
During the hearing, White acknowledged that he had received and stored child pornography. Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation following a CyberTip related to White’s Gmail account. It was determined that White had accessed several explicit videos depicting child pornography. This activity was traced back to his residence in Cherokee, Iowa. During a voluntary interview at his home, White confessed to possessing such material. Authorities seized multiple electronic devices from him.
A forensic examination of these devices uncovered numerous videos and images of child pornography, including AI-generated or cartoon depictions involving minors. Some content involved prepubescent children and depicted sadistic or violent acts.
White is awaiting sentencing by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand after the preparation of a presentence report. He remains in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshal until then. He could face up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and at least five years of supervised release post-incarceration.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The program involves federal, state, and local resources working together to apprehend individuals who exploit children sexually and rescue victims. More information about this initiative can be found on the Department of Justice website.
