Iowa State Bar Association promotes non-attorney affiliate membership for legal staff

The Iowa State Bar Association announced on April 22 the ongoing availability of its non-attorney affiliate membership, aimed at paralegals, legal assistants, office administrators, and other legal support professionals employed by and sponsored by current ISBA attorney members.

This initiative is intended to broaden access to professional development resources and communication tools for all members of the legal team. The ISBA said annual dues are $75, with membership running from July 1 through June 30. Those who join now will receive benefits through June 30, 2027.

ISBA members are encouraged to refer their colleagues or staff for this opportunity. “Investing in the growth and development of your team not only strengthens individual skills but also enhances the overall effectiveness of your practice,” the association said in its announcement.

The Iowa Bar Association supports diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession according to the official website. The organization also operates out of its headquarters in Des Moines for administrative tasks and member events according to the official website.
