The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) announced on Apr. 15 that membership dues for the 2026–2027 year are due by June 30, encouraging members to renew early to maintain uninterrupted access to resources and support.

The ISBA says continued membership is important because it connects legal professionals with tools and services designed to strengthen their practice, advance careers, and support well-being. The association supports over 6,500 lawyers and judges licensed in Iowa according to the official website.

Members receive benefits such as legal research through vLex Fastcase, document automation via IowaDocs, guidance from the Law Practice Management Hub, ethics opinions, jury instructions, title standards, career-building opportunities in the ISBA Career Center, client development tools like Iowa Find-A-Lawyer, networking through sections and mentorship programs, as well as publications including The Iowa Lawyer magazine and Iowa Lawyer Weekly. Well-being resources such as the confidential Esquire Assistance Program are also available.

To simplify future renewals, members are encouraged to enroll in auto-renewal through their online profiles. “Please take the time to renew at your earliest convenience so we can continue to serve you,” said the association in its announcement email.

The ISBA promotes diversity, equity and inclusion within the legal profession. Its headquarters in Des Moines are used for administrative operations and member events. The organization is governed by a board of 47 elected members from judicial districts across Iowa.

The association honors excellence through awards recognizing contributions both within the profession and public service. It also aids legal professionals with education aimed at enhancing practice and community service while advancing justice statewide through legislative efforts.

“The ISBA remains committed to supporting Iowa lawyers in their service to clients, the community, and the judicial system. We appreciate your continued membership and look forward to serving you in the year ahead,” said ISBA.
