The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) announced on April 8 that membership dues for the 2026–2027 year are due by June 30 and encouraged members to renew promptly to maintain access to its resources and support.

Membership in the ISBA provides lawyers and judges with a range of professional tools, services, and opportunities aimed at strengthening legal practice and supporting well-being. The association said these benefits include legal research platforms, document automation, practical guidance through its Law Practice Management Hub, ethics opinions, jury instructions, title standards, career-building opportunities through the ISBA Career Center, client development tools like Iowa Find-A-Lawyer, as well as mentorship programs and regular publications.

To simplify future renewals, the ISBA recommends enrolling in auto-renewal via its website. This feature is intended to help members avoid interruptions in their membership status. “This convenient option ensures your membership remains active year after year; no reminders, no interruptions,” the association said.

The Iowa Bar Association serves over 6,500 lawyers and judges licensed in Iowa according to the official website. The organization is governed by a board of 47 members elected from judicial districts across Iowa according to the official website. Its headquarters in Des Moines are used for administrative operations and member events according to the official website.

In addition to offering professional resources and education aimed at enhancing practice and community service statewide according to the official website, the ISBA also promotes diversity, equity and inclusion within the legal profession according to the official website. The association recognizes excellence through awards for contributions both within law practice and public service according to the official website.

The ISBA stated it remains committed “to supporting Iowa lawyers in their service to clients, the community, and the judicial system.” It expressed appreciation for continued membership support as it looks ahead toward another year.
