Todd Babb, a 62-year-old resident of Sioux City, Iowa, pleaded guilty on November 19, 2025, in federal court to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
According to evidence presented at the plea hearing, Babb had previously been convicted of two felony drug offenses—one in Iowa District Court and another in Federal Court. He admitted that from 2018 until August 2024, he conspired with others to distribute more than 1,500 grams of methamphetamine in the Sioux City area. During a search of his home, law enforcement officers seized over $3,000 and a quarter pound of methamphetamine intended for distribution. Additionally, about one pound of methamphetamine was found in a vehicle outside his residence.
Sentencing will be scheduled before United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand after completion of a presentence report. Babb is currently held by the United States Marshal while awaiting sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and could receive up to life imprisonment, along with a fine up to $20 million and at least ten years of supervised release after serving any prison time.
